Acupuncture is a form of health care that has been practiced for thousands of years. It involves a process of inserting needles at precise points to help balance the meridians within the body and to treat blockages and stagnation. Acupuncture needles are placed in specific meridian points to stimulate a change in energy that leads to better health. It is used to treat nearly every ailment.
Most U.S. acupuncturists treat patients on tables in individual cubicles. This is not traditional in Asia, where acupuncture usually occurs in a community setting. In our clinic we primarily use recliners, clustered in groups in a large, quiet, soothing space. Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits:
